Here are some of our customers, and what we do for them:

New Zealand Steel

New Zealand Steel use OpenVMS for their two main applications: The laboratory information management system, the the Primary Plants information storage and dissemination system. Both are vital for the normal production of steel, and both are required 24x7. Perfect environment for OpenVMS!

This environment uses OpenVMS, RDB, BEA MessageQ, C, Cobol and Fortran. In recent years the access of information has been by browser, rather then from dumb terminal, so there is some ODBC and VB development also.

We maintain and operate the environment, and have performed intensive automation of operational processes. There has been no unscheduled outage for in excess of two years now.

Projects we have undertaken include Disaster Recovery Planning, consolidating servers, migrating applications, and running customer workshops. We are currently implementing the Apache Web Server on NZ Steel's Alphas to serve data and applications on their Intranet.

Wairau Stone

Initially, Wairau Stone asked us to redesign their website, which went live early in 2003 (http://www.wairaustone.co.nz). Now, we provide additional marketing consultancy, and are working in conjunction with other media forms (currently print and TV) to establish a brand for them.

In addition we provide support for the companies entire (Windows based) IT infrastructure, and provide their internet and email access.

Datacom

Datacom are another company that offer OpenVMS services. We provide Datacom with OpenVMS System Management and RDB training, customized to their requirements.

We have also been on-hand to assist in cases where the Datacom team have needed expertise at short notice.

Hewlett Packard

We have a long relationship with HP, and Compaq before them, and Digital before that - successive owners of the OpenVMS product.

In 2002 we were made the sole providers of OpenVMS training in New Zealand, are on two occasions provided training services for  HP Australia also.

We are continually in contact with the OpenVMS Management and development staff in Nashua, New Hampshire, and are currently looking to take part in their OpenVMS-on-Itanium early adopters program.

Our services at New Zealand Steel have featured in two brochures developed by the OpenVMS marketing team:

OpenVMS - the next step forward in a long-term future with HP

Wilson and Horton

Wilson & Horton, publishers of The New Zealand Herald amongst other titles, has been using OpenVMS for may years, and has a team that knows and supports their environment.

Occasionally, however, we get asked to use our expertise for the more unusual jobs: investigating performance issues, for example, or setting up SMTP mail for the VMS server. We are more than happy to work alongside and with an existing IT department.
